The Sony Xperia Z is real! As rumoured, this five-inch Android beast packs next-gen specs including a full HD display – and unlike some of its rivals, it’s headed to the UK too! Read on for all the details.

Those leaks were bang on the money: the 7.9mm thin, quad-core Sony Xperia Z is a monster Android phone with a pin-sharp, 1080p resolution display. It pulls down data from the web at 4G speeds, and around the back there’s a 13 megapixel camera sensor, and unusually, the whole affair is water resistant.

It runs Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean” out of the box, but Sony says an upgrade to more feature-packed 4.2 is on the way.

The Sony Xperia Z isn’t the first full HD smartphone to make it into officialdom: HTC already has one model, the Droid DNA, on sale in the US and Japan. But with a Q1 (before April) release date, the Xperia Z may be the first to arrive in the UK – Vodafone has already announced it’ll be stocking the phone.

Is the Sony Xperia Z the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 killer you’ve been hoping for?.

After launching phones with video-chat facility on a 2G network, Intex seems to be on a roll. The company is all set to launch its next offering in the Dual SIM-Video phones genre- IN 2060 V.DO (pronounced as We Do) which is a feature-rich music cum video phone.

The Intex IN 2060 V.DO- a GSM + GSM model, plays all kinds of moor video formats (MP4, 3GP and AVI) with utmost clarity. The hi-definition video fits in well with the QVGA 2.0 inch display screen. The result is an enriching experience for users who treat their handsets as an entertainment gadget and not just a communication device.

Shailendra Jha, Deputy General Manager –Telecom, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd said, " INTEX IN 2060 V.DO has been designed keeping in mind the aspirations of Indian buyers who crave for good display quality, broad video-compatibility along with the sundry utility features in the phone. V.DO literally allows the user to carry along his audio and video entertainment portfolio. It comes easy on the pocket too."

Along with the video playing and recording (it has 1.3 MP camera), other notable features include – an-inbuilt radio so that users could have a clutter-free FM radio experience (listen and record) without requiring ear-phones or antenna, audio player, extendable memory up to 8 GB, auto call record, data protection, web camera, torch light, Bluetooth with A2DP, Hindi keypad, mobile tracker, Black List, etc.

This time, Intex has taken the Black List feature to an altogether new level. Hitherto, the company was offering facility of blocking up to 5 callers in its range of mobile phones. In V.DO a user can block 500 callers – that is as many contacts as present in the phonebook. A fairly long –lasting battery gives you adequate time to enjoy the best of its in-built features.

INTEX IN 2060 V.DO Price: Rs. 2600/-
